Personal Register of Interests
My front-line role
I am the Conservative County Councillor for Welwyn division. The ‘Your Community’ section provides local service information, news, events and contacts about the area.
I represent the interests of around 15,000 residents in the communities of The Ayots, Welwyn, Digswell, Oaklands & Mardley Heath, Woolmer Green, Sherrardspark & Knightsfield.
Residents who wish to raise any issue with me are welcome to do so at any time, whether by e-mail, letter or telephone. I will always deal promptly with casework issues.
As is the case with every County Councillor, I have a locality budget to spend on community projects in the division. Follow the links for more details of the scheme and details of applications I have previously agreed and declined.
I now also have a Highways Locality Budget of £90,000 and am using it to improve footways and paths to help walkers and cyclists.
Membership of Outside Bodies
Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (Vice-President)
Welwyn Hatfield Highways Liaison Meeting (Chairman)
I was Chairman of Hertfordshire County Council from 21 May 2013 to 19 May 2015.
I am a member of several charitable organisations, including -
The Livery Company of Launderers - Freeman of the City of London, English Heritage, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, The Hertfordshire Community Foundation, The Digswell Lake Society.
And a supporter of others such as RNLI, the Salvation Army and the Red Cross.
I have four grandchildren who all attend or have attended Hertfordshire Schools. My oldest grandchild is now studying at the University of Exeter. I enjoy walking and visiting historical buildings.
