My front-line role

I am the Conservative County Councillor for Bishop’s Stortford East division. The ‘Your Community’ section provides local service information, news, events, and contacts about the area.

Bishop’s Stortford East Division comprises of two wards, All Saints and Meads. Within the division there are three secondary schools and two primary schools. Although mainly residential the division also encompasses five small industrial estates.

  My County Council responsibilities

In May 2013 I was appointed as Deputy Executive Member for Adult Care and Health and sit on the Health Scrutiny Committee. I also sit on the Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education.

 Roles on outside bodies

I am a Governor of the Hertfordshire & Essex High School, and a Trustee of the Birchanger Woods Trust.

 Personal and political details

In 2007 I began my political career by standing for and winning a seat on the Bishop’s Stortford Town Council. Two years following I stood for County Council and gained that seat as well. I run a local printing business and bring the small business skills to my council work.

I am also a committed Christian and an active member of my local church. My Christian values give me a moral foundation that is sadly missing in many areas of society today.

In my spare time I build and run steam locomotives and can be found driving a locomotive at Audley End from time to time.
